sermon-izing... and other weekend reflections

be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer

romans 12:12

this was the wedding text of the beautiful couple that were wed this saturday

(and while not the main point of this post - this pregnant lady danced her little heart out... at least until she was cramping up something fierce. sooo fun though)

Anyway, i find that wedding sermons are always a great reminder.

here's the jist, in case you weren't there.

in marriage and love

you can be joyful in hope

and because of your hope, patient in affliction

all through faithfullness in prayer.

loved it.

part 2: Sunday morning sermon

you may not be getting the whole picture of this sermon but here is what it got out of it.

not only because of Christ and his faithful assurance can we be hopeful, and patient, and wait on the Lord in the midst of our troubles

... but in the good times we can be thankful.

thankful in good times. joyful in hope

daily life has affliction. our life has affliction. but in the big scheme of things my life is good.

how often do i cry out to the Lord when i am stressed, and worried and wondering?

alot

how often do i get on my knees in thankfullness when life is a big beautiful blessing?

not enough

i told dave last night

"i like you. i like this. i like our life"

a home. 2 jobs. wonderful family. and a precious beautiful little baby to come

so today.

i am thankful

and joyful in hope
