i realize that things have been a little (read: a lot) quiet on the blogging front. and unfortunately i don't really have much of an excuse... just a little lazy and a little on vacation.
so here is some updates since i blogged last:
(WARNING - this is a long post and if you get bored... i understand!)
#1. Baby P is doing well... we hit 17 weeks a couple of days ago and i definately look pregnant. As for pictures, i bought batteries 2 weeks ago, put them into my camera yesterday, and am subsequently waiting for a good hair day to take pictures.
#2. Weddings.
our wonderful friends Brent & Andrea were married on August 27th, a very exciting day to say the least. It was beautiful and warm and a lot of fun.
#3. Getting chivaried ( for the 2nd time). Yep you read that right! We invited some friends over for between the wedding and reception for drinks. However, we left about 1/2 hour before them to light candles at the reception. We were feeling pretty thankful for friends that we can trust to tidy up after us.
unfortunately we came home to:
- saran wrap on our toilet (i noticed pre-use thank goodness)
- no labels on our cans
- bottle caps under our bedsheets (i was woken by these at 2am)
- and alarm clocks that brazenly went off at 11pm and 3 am.
oh the joy of trustworthy friends
#4. Vacation time = camping time
dave's family camping and my family camping coincided this year so it was just one big family reunion with a birthday on either side (molly - 2 and tyson - 20). both families were there for the weekend and my family continued camping until Thursday.
how do you fully explain a week of camping. this will fall short... but it was a lot of fun! i learned that 2 year olds are inexplicably hilarious, that brother in laws find turban towels after a shower incredibly fascinating, i had a picture taken with a watermelon under my shirt, was teased mercilessly about my belly, went family golfing (and didn't suck) and realized that just because your brother turns 20 and has a sweet & adorable girlfriend this doesn't mean he is any more mature (at all)
#5. Barn updates
The Parish's have been doing some serious reno on the barn and have put in a 'rapid exit parlour' and crowd gate (my mom called it a "get the goats out quick system" ... close.... i guess).
It took some work and a lot of building but so far has been working out fairly well. I am not always great with farming terminology so I can give you my phone number if you are really intersted and you can talk to my husband
#6. Husband and wife time
Dave couldn't be at the rest of family camping with me because of #5. So on Saturday, because I didn't want to spend the day alone i went to help at the barn. nothing like a pregnant lady with power tools. And yesterday he was able to get chores off and so we spent the day together in London. The Pioneer Village, some lost keys, some found keys, East Park, dinner and movie packed in a day of fun.
#7. School time
My little brother Austin was off to Western for his 1st year in Medical Sciences. Not really about me... but I am pretty proud. and it's my blog- so i'm bragging.
I realize that this post could've been spruced up with the some photos- unfortunately my camera is at home, i didn't take any at the wedding or at camping... so my clever writing and puns will have to suffice.
Now that you are all caught up....
what should i blog about tomorrow?
