competitive much?

this past weekend was a bridal shower for the beautiful Andrea VanderVeen.

A Mad Hatter - Alice in Wonderland theme.

this shower scored big points.

i mean

1. it had a theme

2. there were girls dressed as a mad hatter, alice in wonderland (the bride to be), the rabbit, and the Queen of Hearts

3. everyone had to wear a hat (love love love dressing up.

and 4.....

there was a contest for the best hat.

nothing gets my blood pumping faster than a little competition.

i thought about all the many different options that i had.

and every great idea starts with a little research.

here was the outcome of mine.

where better to channel your best tea party hat then from the lovely Kate Middleton and the interesting fascinators that appeared at the 'wedding of the century' (PS: in my head that sentence was accompanied by an British accent)

in the end.... my hat was one left over from one of my own wedding showers ringed with some lovely pink flowers from the dollar store.

best one. (in my humble opinion)

unfortunately - i was not the winner....... but my team won 2 other of the competitions. so i went home pretty darn satisfied.

oh, and the bride- to - be??? (right this post isn't all about me) beautiful. blusing. and i think she went home pretty satisfied as well.

.... especially since i obviously brought the best gift.
