so how should i respond?
should i tell them about:
- discussing soccer standings and next weeks tournament with at least 3-4 different people (oh wait, I was just sitting there.... dave was discussing)
- going to the beach on sunday
- making food & cake on saturday
- the church picnic
- dave's birthday party with some friends and family (which was actually a lot of fun. tiring - but a lot of fun)
- buying Laura a chocolate bar which elicited a "this is the best afternoon ever" (might've had more to do with the fact that she had a babysitter that evening and didn't have to share her chocolate)
OR
I could talk about my siblings.
my parents were gone this weekend. which you would think being moved out and all for the past yearish that this would not really disrupt anything for me.
dead. wrong.
who shows up on my doorstep on Saturday afternoon at 12:00 sharp. the 1st words out of Tyson's mouth, "do you have lunch ready big k?"
do i have lunch ready?
well finding out that i hadn't - he informs me that he and quintin are going to the soccer fields and i am to text him when lunch is ready.
so i did
(i am a sucker for company when dave is at the farm on saturdays)
next....
the church picnic
"what are you making for us big k?"
" did you bring us food?"
"you only brought 2 pops.. where are ours?"
"failure big k"
"good you brought a tablecloth"
"gross k your table cloth is sticky"
(luckily - maddy is a little more responsible than her brothers and did bring some plates and silverware for them all!)
and finally.....
dave and i go to the beach with the boys sunday afternoon
and i get in a host of trouble for sitting on the side of the beach that is past the tree. my goodness - location. location. location.
apparently sitting past the tree is for families. old people. and losers (like big k)
culminate this whole weekend of family bliss with the fact that they are enjoying and reveling in every.single.second. of the fact that i have a tiny little paunch.
fat jokes have never been so fun for them.
I LOVE MY SIBLINGS.
good thing i have dave to salvage my self- esteem (oh right, he sits there and laughs....)
how was your weekend?
