it's a real phenomenon
it really happens out there
yesterday i was 'churched'
if you are sufficiently confused
or have a different definition of being churched, i would suggest that you continue reading
yesterday i had a little bit of an off day.
i was feeling great when i woke up and off to church we went. i got through about half, and somewhere into 5 minutes of the sermon i began to feel a littel queasy. so i scooted out.
and i came back a little while later. started feeling dizzy. queasy. and hot.
so i scooted out...... again
nothing like drawing attention to yourself.
so afterwards i experienced the 'church phenomenom"
every older lady from my seat back expressed concern about how i was feeling
the library lady asked how i was
i recieved multiple hugs
one of my dad's friends commented on my lack of bladder control
i was churched.
it was nothing. i was fine. no issues. just a little overheated.
but people expressed concern and love because they care. it's the epitomy of what God means when he calls us to commune with other christians.
there are a multitude of reasons for being among other Christians, and among them includes a caring community.
a caring community that brings meals when you lose a family member
that fill your mailbox with wedding cards and fill the church basement for your shower
ladies that want to make sure that "the little mama" is indeed doing okay.
sometimes they know more about you than you want.
but sometimes a side hug from a couple of ladies in the library makes you feel that even though you missed the sermon, you were communicated a very clear message
on a related side note: i am also very very thankful that i have had such an uneventful pregnancy. being sick all the time would not. be. fun.
once on a random sunday is good enough for me!
