such is the current situation at our house.
mice = mice. i think you get the jist. it's a farmhouse. it's winter. it's gross
mops = i don't really know how to explain the ins and outs of this situation, but here goes. something along the lines of a tile (?) being plugged. either way it flooded our laundry room and into the basement. this was discovered this morning at 5:30am when dave got up to do chores.
believe me, bucketing water out of a laundry room sink is not my choice activity pre-dawn!
meltdowns = mine = 0 (so far). We have managed to avoid a meltdown. i actually am quite proud of calm i stayed. let's hope that the end is in site.
more = on a more positive note, there are some exciting things happening here as well. yesterday madison & i finished prepping the nursery for paint. the wallpaper and border are off, the trim, windows & doors are taped, and any holes are mudded & sanded!
tomorrow mom & i are headed to fabric land to find some material for curtains, pillows, and a cushion for the rocking chair. from there we are going to pick out a beautiful paint colour and get to work on friday! very very excited to think about having a nice room to bring the baby home to (ps: 33 1/2 weeks).
in other baby-related news my wonderful grandma & grandpa richmond delivered an awesome carseat/stroller for our first baby gift. it is still sitting downstairs where i can look at it frequently (and possibly stroll it around empty....???). they also delivered a crib, rocking chair, and bassinet all for the baby's room. all are from when i or my siblings were babies, or even farther back in the case of the bassinet.
(and yes... I have checked crib safety regulations and this one is FINE! it was made after Sept. 86, the slats are the correct distance apart, and the corner posts are within the right heights... just in case you were wondering)
so our house is in a state of fluctuation
we are managing.
i am enjoying my vacation (minus the early morning) and things are well in baby-land!
Thanks for stopping by!
