On Sunday we went around the room and said things we love about our mom.
such as: taking me to hockey (for obvious reasons - not mine)
lunches buying good (?)
corn conversations
and mine? a measly... thanks for making my curtains. and then I was cut off - apparently we were only allowed 1.
therefore, I am making up for it today. thank you for being my best friend (after Dave). thanks for laughing at my jokes, and dad's jokes, and just about everything else. Thank you for being a sounding board for marital disagreements, decorating ideas, and everything in between. thank you for being consistently available, consistently loving, and consistently forgiving. thank you for proving that marriages last and that hard work really does count for something. Thank you for giving me a real-life example of what it takes to be a great wife and a loving mother. Thank you for being humble enough to apologize and proud enough to exalt in the accomplishments of your children. Thank you for being a leader and for encouraging me to do better and be better. i am proud to be your daughter, thankful people say I act like you, and happy that i look like you.
you may be terrible at keeping score or remembering the punch line.
but if a Sunday chalked full of teenagers (and young adults) who wanted nothing more than to chat and play games with thier parents doesn't prove we love you.........i don't know what does.
