cake boss

you probably aren't aware of this.... but i have a slight new obsession.

making cakes.

good for my family. NOT good for my waistline.

they aren't beautiful. they aren't all that creative (i use a cookbook) and the fine art of cake decorating eludes me.

but they taste good.

and this weekend I am at in again.

last weekend i made 2 cakes.

1. all chocolate boston cream pie

2. mocha fudge cake (this may look familliar - but this time i switched the coffee for some peanut butter!!)

and in case you were wondering - yes they both looked exactly like that ............... (note the sarcasm)

this weekend I am making another for my mother's birthday.
i don't want to reveal what it is but it's gonna be good.



slight problem -
it says to bake it in a water bath for better results.... am i the only one who's mind conjured up thoughts of a water birth when they read that??

.........

nevermind. i just had a date with my go-to-friend google, and were gonna be just fine!
