and on these things.....
I THRIVE
maybe i should explain myself. i don't thrive on complainy people.
i thrive on the crowds at the mall, the over eating (which i later regret), the rush, the money, the wrapping.
i love EVERYTHING about Christmas. the bows. the songs. the snowflakes. the love. the anticipation.
there is nothing like being able to greet people in a sing-song voice (which normallly gains odd looks) and holler a good ol' fashioned " Merry Christmas" to everyone you meet.
Ah yes Christmas is glorious (and the chocolates they drop off at work aren't too shabby either)
my tummy is a puddle of excitement this time of year. i almost cry when people exclaim that they can't wait for Christmas to be over.
and i wish that this big churning pot of excitement would last all year. but it doesn't.
i forget about the merry greetings. i groan at the snowflakes. i balk at the scale. i forget about the Christ child.
he's so near. so vibrant. so alive. so wonderful this time of the season. and yet it all passes in the blur of another by-gone week.
so here's my christmas prayer (it's one that i once heard from our pastor)
May the joy of the angels,
the eagerness of the shepherds,
the perseverance of the wise men,
the obedience of Joseph and Mary,
and the peace of the Christ child
be ours this Christmas;
and be among us and remain with us always.
merry christmas sweetheart!
