hubbers

i love my husband.

but there are some days that i REALLY love my husband.

and there are some days that, (in the words of "how to lose a guy in 10 days") I love you but i don't have to like you right now!!

those are usually the days that i have to clean up for him, cook for him, make calls for him, make excuses for him, and essentially just put up with him - all without a second glance or a thank you (read: this doesn't happen very often)

and then there are the days that he is so flippin' cute that i just can't help but REALLY love him.

take Saturday:
he (for once) makes his own breakfast. and i look over and what does he have but 4 waffles all piled on top of each other with the perfect amount of syrup, two expertly-made over easy eggs, and his cluster of grapes arranged "just so" on his plate.

yes i made fun of him. and yes he finally admitted that he was trying to make his plate look appetizing. and yes he knows i was going to blog about it.

and for some reason this week it happened twice

take last night:
i had to pick maddy up from school yesterday after work - and really - i could have dropped her off at home ... but what fun is that? so she stayed for supper. and then mom could have just picked her up.... but what fun is that? so she stayed for a movie?

who gives maddy the biggest hug after walking in the door?
who doesn't even blink when informed that maddy's staying for supper and mom for a movie?
who helps load all the dishes into the dishwasher AND clear the table (without asking)?
who sweeps the kitchen floor - just cause it needs it?
who starts the fire place for my cold mom?
who puts the good table cloth back on the table?
who dishes & serves ice cream to all the visitors?

answer: dave

i don't know who we was trying to impress or what he was trying to achieve but it was entertaining none the less.

and i must admit - these occurrences are more frequent than i let on... hubbers is a pretty good man (most of the time)
