you may have heard from a variety of different advertising sources about the upcoming Walk for Memories.
Don't know what it is???
essentially - it's a walk...... for memories.
Not clear enough?
On January 29th from 10:00am- 12:00 people from all over Huron County will be walking at 5 different locations (see list below) to support the fight against Alzheimer's. You can walk as teams or as an individual. The money all goes to the Alzheimer Society of Huron County to support the work that is done and to support the caregivers & people that live with Alzheimer's or a related dementia. Another important aspect is research - Alzheimer's has no cure!! But someday, we just might get there, and that's why we need your support!!
If you can't make it out on that day you can support the cause by either making a donation to the Alzheimer Society of Huron County (www. alzheimerhuron.on.ca) or you can support a walker.... and get this: I AM WALKING!!! You can send me a message or visit: http://www.walkformemories.ca/ -on this website you can find me from a list of names when you click: sponsor a walker!!
the number of Ontarians with dementia will increase 40% in nine short years. Every dollar you raise will help provide counselling, education and information to people in your community living with Alzheimer's disease and other dementia's.
Think about it.
2 hours. 1 day. 1 pledge = improve a life (& maybe someday -save a life)
not a high cost if you ask me!!!
if you want to walk - here are the locations:
F.E Madill Secondary School - Wingham,
St. Anne's Catholic Secondary School - Clinton (this is where i am walking)
Maitland Recreation Centre (YMCA) Goderich
South Huron District High School - Exeter
Seaforth Public School - Seaforth
Don't Forget!!
