here is what happened to me on saturday. brace yourselves people.
i was minding my own business saturday morning in the local grocery store. we were having dave's family over Sunday and i needed a few groceries (by few i literally mean 3).
so after i find my mayonnaise, 10 pd bag of red potatoes and italian dressing, i march up to the cashier's counter and plunk my groceries down.
cashier: can i see your id?
kirsten: sure (insert long pause) why?
cashier: we have to ID everyone who looks under 25
kirsten: o.....k.... (thinking to myself .... this is going to be SUCH a pain every time i get groceries. is this at every grocery store. crap. i barely look 21 let alone 25. i hate getting groceries.....) so when did this start?
cashier: a little while ago
kirsten: (fumbling for license)
cashier: oh my gosh, is that salad dressing? oh it is. honey i am sooo sorry! i thought that was a bottle of alcohol (side note: our small town grocery also doubles as LCBO & Beer Store)
kirsten: (ackward laugh) no problem
cashier: honey (what's with the honey?) i have to apologize again. i feel terrible. that'll by 13. 50 but really i am sooo sorry.
kirsten: it's alright. don't worry about it.
cashier: well at least it's a good story. i bet you've never been ID'd for mayonnaise before
kirsten (thinking to herself): nope this was definately a first. and as for a good story.... (insert evil laugh) it's a good thing you don't know i have a blog.........
and that i was way to flustered to look at your name tag.
