you should see it. it is like a scene from Jeckel & Hyde. a storm hits and all of a sudden he turns into a horrible creature of unparallelled proportions.
so i exaggerate.
no monsters emerged from my husband's body last night when the storm hit. but he is pretty freakin' annoying.
so the storm hits last night and for some reason that i still don't fully comprehend, i woke up at 3am because i remembered the patio chair cusions and umbrella were still outside.
this also woke up my storm-crazy husband who then left for the barn to close things up. this left me with 15 minutes of dread as i imagined every possible thing lightning could do to him in a 1 minute drive.
but he got back....... and i wished he didnt.
"Kirst, come see this" (it was 3 freakin' 30)
" are those tornado clouds?" (you should know that ANY weather that produces ANY type of rain causes my husband to ask about tornado clouds. he desperately wants to see one. i reminded him that they also tear down buildings and homes. He told me that he wants to see a tornado anyway, just it can only hit a field. and he thinks i live in a fantasy land when i told him that relationships from the Bachelor might really work)
he lays back down
"did you see that" (no i was trying to ignore it because it is 4 am)
he gets out of bed again
"woah" (shut up)
"maybe we should go in the basement"
"lets go in the basement"
and because it was WAY easier to comply i went to the cold basement. and laid with him on a double bed. not fun. then the water pump came on. scared the beejeebies out of me.
"the hydro went out" (yep. got that. i AM the one who left the hall light on)
finally i gave up.
i went upstairs.
i told him that i didn't care if we got hit by a tornado - i want to be well rested when i go flying into the sky.
so at 5:00 i think I finally got some sleep
and then the monster's alarm went off at 5:30 (grrr...)
when he came around my side of the bed and accidently hit my foot that was hanging out the side of the bed, it may have been my lack-of-sleep-monster that emerged.
next time.
he can sleep on the double bed. alone. and contemplate the weather down there.
without me.
where i can't hear.
i. love. married. life.
