tuckered out

i am pooped. they are pooped. dave is pooped.

wowsie!

we had Josiah (3) and Alissa (1 1/2) from Friday night to late Sunday night and boy are we tired!!

We laughed a lot (fun fact: did you know that kids laugh an average of 400 times a day, while adults only laugh about 20)

anyway, it was quite the weekend.
unfortunately for their mother they might need a bit to recoup, I know we do.

We dragged them to Corey & Laura's to play at their cousins on Saturday while Dave helped Corey take apart the grain bin that blew away. we tried to put them down for a nap - but that wasn't going to happen.

Saturday night, i took them to a Buck & Doe for supper. (remind me when I have kids that potlucks and barbeques aren't the greatest for children. i think they had cupcakes for supper).

Sunday we took them to a church picnic in the rain and 12 degree whether (if i don't believe you the first time, please remind me AGAIN that potato salad is not a kid-friendly meal)

then, just because we had already spent soooo much time at our house, we took them to my parents. Dave and I wanted a visit with them, so they were dragged alone. This.... not such a bad idea. They loved my siblings.

We also played lots and lots of table hockey (air hockey) which he will inform you.... 100 + times.... that they have table hockey at Chuck E Cheese.

While it was fun, I am not sure if we are the best babysitters

a). all 3 nights they weren't in bed on time
b). i think they had cupcakes for 2 meals
c). i let them have whip cream on their waffles sunday morning
d). i let them eat chocolate chipits at 6pm in the evening (BEFORE supper) and Josiah might have scooped some raw cookie dough.....

and worst of worst
e). they may have worn socks & sandles (gasp!)

But that's what aunts & uncles are for right.

throw out the schedule.
throw out the healthy meals
and have a little fun.

in Josiah's words, it was "crazy coconuts"
