laugh

yesterday as i was working on my November events calendar i came across a statistic to add to the bottom. "Laughing lowers levels of stress hormones and strenghtens the immune system. Six year olds laugh an average of 300 times a day. Adults only laugh 15 to 100 times a day!

laughing is great fun... and apparently it is good for you. unfortunately no one in my family thinks i am funny. my mom does. but i am the only one who thinks she is funny. (this may have something to do with the fact that we are.... as my friends have informed me.... 'exactly the same')

Anyways, today as you go about your day - find time to laugh!! Whether it is at your ridiculous husband trying to imitate the dancers and singers on GLEE with his own personal rendition or it is an older client calling to tell you that the pedometer she borrowed is ruined because she dropped it in the toilet - find something funny in your day!!

a little while ago i went to a motivational speaker with work and she was a 'humour specialist' (yes.. i know - apparently they exist). She told us to start laughing. even if we didn't find anything funny. just laugh.

and the thing is we did - whether it was the big man guffawing in the corner, or the older lady tittering in her seat, listening to other people laugh is funny! Ask my mom - watching dave howl at "funny" jokes is funny enough that you don't even have to watch the show to laugh!!

so in order for you to get a little laugh. i've included a joke below. please be aware that it is one i sent to my grandpa for his 70th birthday and his humour is..... interesting!!

a mother in law goes to visit her son at his home and when she walks in the door she finds her daughter in law standing naked in the middle of the room. "What are you doing" the mother in law exclaims. The daughter in law replies " this is my naked dress. my husband likes it and i am waiting for him to get home." Understanding that this might not be the best time for a visit the mother in law leaves. thinking a little more on her daughter in law's idea when her (the mother in law) husband comes home he finds his wife in the middle of the room... naked! "what is this about?" he questions. "it's my naked dress" she replies. His response? "Needs ironing!"

hope you all enjoy a laugh today!!

see you another time. another post. another everyday joy!
