my husband got grumpy. from a chess game. the computer chess game on our computer has become his nemesis.
problem? – he never wins. he pounds the desk. and he exits the office in a state of defeated grumpiness (it usually only lasts about 10 seconds). yes computer games make my husband grumpy
you've probably experienced these things – those weird little things that are incredibly endearing…. if not completely annoying.. but you can’t do anything about…

(please realize i am not talking about myself – i am talking about my husband!)
everyone has them. everyone wants to change them. everyone fails
idiosyncrasy - a peculiar temperament, habit of body. It can be defined as an individualizing quality or characteristic of a person – usually used to express eccentricity or peculiarity
some people might call them bad habits. or quirks. or oddities.

it all comes down to the same thing – my husband’s weird!
example? well if the ‘the-computer-is-smarter-than-me-and-i-lost’ routine isn’t enough here are some more…..
1. he twitches when he sleeps. extremely annoying and sometimes it involves me getting hit. he chalks it up to dreaming about hockey when he sleeps
2. he puts ice in his soup
3. he hovers over his food with one arm while simultaneously shovelling it into his mouth
4. he only drinks chocolate milk when it is ½ chocolate milk and ½ white milk
5. his attention to the road while driving varies depending on the crops, tractors, or pretty ladies we’re passing
6. he wears this odd little smirk when he takes something the wrong way (ie. it sounds completely normal to you – but in his twisted little mind you said something dirty)

7. he laughs really really loud!
8. you can always tell when he is missing his brother or cousin – because he gets in this really weird wrestly mood and trys to fight me
9. he hates commercials. maybe it’s just a guy thing. but with him … .success is watching 4 shows at a time without ever seeing a single commercial. Who cares if he doesn’t know what’s going on in a single show?
so it comes down to this.
i married a weird one.
and believe me there’s more!
but hey- if he can fall in love with a girl who toots when she gets nervous, talks way too loud for her own good, is extremely bossy, rammy and smucks her food……….. who am i to judge?

here’s to the people we love. the oddities we hate. and the fact that we put up with them anyway!
