there's something about grandparents that just make them smarter.
maybe it's the fact that they've lived about 45ish years longer than me. or the fact they've raised children and had jobs and maybe just cause they've LIVED.
either way - older people are smarter people.
it was once said "By wisdom a house is built, and through understanding it is established; through knowledge its rooms are filled with rare and beautiful treasures."
-Proverbs 24:3-4
-Proverbs 24:3-4
take this verse as you will. but here are my reflections.
my grandparents are wise people. dave and i were there last night for a visit & a game of cards. we discussed everything from boyfriends, to church, to employment, to grocery shopping and in everything you see the experience and the wisdom that life... and faith have brought them.
don't be mistaken - my grandparents are not stiff and serious people. they are a riot. Dave and i had sooo much fun with them. they make silly jokes, bicker together, and supply innuendo's that make you blush!! and while we laugh with them - we learn from them.
they are not perfect. they would be the first to admit it. but they challenge dave and i to be stronger in our faith. more dedicated in our marriage. and firm in the desire to serve where God has placed us.
by wisdom my grandparents built a home and through understanding established a family. and while it's treasures may not be much to be desired by the world's standards - in my opinion, laughter, love & family are about as rare and beautiful as they come!!

"The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding."

"There is no wisdom, no insight, no plan that can succeed against the LORD."
-Proverbs 21:30
